About Avon, MA

Avon was set off from Stoughton in 1888 and named, the story goes, after Stratford-upon-Avon in England. It’s one of the smallest towns in Norfolk County by both land area and population — about 4.4 square miles and roughly 4,500 residents. The Avon Industrial Park along Bodwell Street is the commercial heart, but the rest of the town reads as a quiet residential community sitting just north of Brockton. Crystal Lake, the brooks running through the back of the town, and the older tree canopy along the main streets give the town more green than the size suggests, and most of that canopy is what we spend our time looking after.
